Students learn vocabulary words to help physicalize, voice and embody their characters. Creative Stages NYC engages all children — including many who struggle with traditional teaching methods.

- Students will write and culminate in their own performance. This residency can be connected to existing curriculum in ELA, Science, Math and Social Studies.
Folk Tales from Around the World
- Students study Folk Tales from around the world by each class picking a story from our library. Our aim is that through the use of character development, collaboration, and self-reflection, our students will gain important social/emotional skills, and understand multiple perspectives, while learning about folk tales from different cultures.
Shakespeare
- Students will perform one of Shakespeare’s selected adapted plays utilizing the Michael Chekhov technique in a collaborative residency with the classroom teacher.
Playwriting
- Students will write their own one-act play and selected plays are performed by professional actors.
Conflict Resolution
- Teaching artist will work with selected classes to help the classroom teacher facilitate positive class behavior through scene work and theatre games.
